Apple Orchard

We decided to do something fun and go to the Apple Orchard today. It wasn't exactly the best day to have chosen but we still had fun watching anna have fun.

This is Anna's new princess bed that grandma bought her. She absolutely loved it. While eric was gone Anna, Grandma Robin and I stayed at the hotel and Anna had her first experience in a big pool. She liked it so much that she wantedus to let her go so she could swim on her own. We obviously didn't do that.

After the pool we went back to the room and she was just a bit tuckered out. We put a movie on and she was gone within 20 minutes. :)

Mini Golf at Moose Mountain

We had fun at moose mountain. Anna didn't do much golfing though. We would hit our ball and she would run after it. We had to be quicker than her or she would pick the ball up. She tried to get me a hole in one by putting my ball in the hole after I hit it but eric wouldn't let me count it. :) Oh well, she was also trying to "help" the people behind us and the people in front of us with their game also. It was quite an experience, that's for sure. :)

Underwater World

Yesterday we went to the MOA and went to the Underwater World Adventure. When we were getting our tickets, eric mentioned he was in the army and we ended up with a free year long membership so anyone who wants to come along with us can get 50% off their tickets and we get in free for a year. I thought that was pretty cool. Anyway, we had fun and anna was having a ball watching the fish swim over her head. And no the bear is not real. It sure looked real at first though.

Saturday night after the Fam left anna was having a blast with her new Care Bear, Funshine, or as anna calls it "Shiny Bear". It's almost as big as her. :)

On Saturday we went to cabelas with some of eric's family and friends and anna wanted to try her hand at driving a boat and a four wheeler. Anna had fun because we let her walk around and not be stuck in a cart. i think I am asking for trouble with this issue but we will see. :)

Ok, so my posts are all backwards but oh well. After the auto show we met up with eric's dad and walk around the Burnsville mall and anna discovered the rides down by the food court and had to try them out. After that we went to Baker's Square and ate some dinner and pie.

These are some of the better cars we saw. the first one is a Challenger that dad wants and the rest are just random classics. I LOVE Classics. :)

The Minneapolis car show

We went to the minneapolis car show yesterday and realized most cars are starting to look about the same these days. :) Anna is sitting in a dodge SRT Caliber which eric and I both thought we wanted but it's too small. She kept saying it was her car and she didn't want out.
Anna had a ball because we let her run free instead of being strapped to a stroller. She was impressively very obedient for having the freedom and so much space.

Thought this was cute even though she didn't say what I wanted her to say.

Anna loves playing with Jazz and her rope. Anna has even gotten it away from jazz a few times. I also just noticed that my house looks like a reck in the pics but I happened to be doing laundry that day. It doesn't always look like that. :)

On Tuesday anna and I went to McD's for lunch and she played in that Playland for the first time. We were supposed to go with her friend anya and her mom but anya was sick so I din't think anna would do much but she played with the other little girls there. She wouldn't go up to the top until I went with her. When we get back I put her to work on the dishes as you can se in the photo. Unfortunatly she washes dishes like her dad and her grandma Robin. Water everywhere. Her shirt was soaked. She loves her new night gown and her sugar and spice cookie. The Tricycle, also a Becky gift and also a hit with anna.

Sunday after church we had a "birthday party" for anna. We had ice cream cake and Becky gave anna her gift which you can see in the photos. Some toys are as easy to fold down as they are to open up. This was not one of them. :) Oh well, anna loves it and sometimes she hides in there when she is supposed to be taking her nap. I don't know how Becky does it but she always gets something that anna loves. Thanks Becky.

Yes, I decorated after Christmas. I bought a tree (3 times with trial and error) after christmas. I had fun and it's going to stay up until eric comes home because our family christmas will be in March, not december. I am looking forward to it very much.

Well, anna is sadly no longer a baby. she is now in her "big girl" bed and loving it. She is much better at staying in bed than I anticipated which helps a lot. : ) When we returned home after Christmas we got a package from eric and it was full of beanie babies and a pink gorilla with a t-shirt that had the name of the camp he is at. There was also a dvd eric made of himself. He read three books to anna which anna really liked.

The sunday after Christmas the girl cousins wore their matching dresses that grandma gave them for Christmas. Anna and Noelle matched and Maleah and Reagan were supposed to match but Maleah didn't wear hers. They were all adorable. I just wish we had gotten better pictures of them.

I thought this was adorable. Anna is really starting to get into pretending. She loves to pretend that she is cooking and taking care of her baby (for the most part anyway, sometimes she's pretty abusive.) :)

These are obviously pictures from holloween. I almost had to carry her costume with us because she didn't want to put it on. We went to the burnsville mall and she got a lot more candy than I thought she would. after that we went up to robin's and went around to her neighbors. We had a lot of fun that night.

I GOT YOUR BACK

Anna and I went to our local airport to see the "field of Honor" they put up every year on Sep. 11. It was very cool to see all those flags. I actually arrived just before they were about to begin the ceremony. Governor Tim Pawlenty was there to give a speech and they had a bunch of the local police officers and Army Reserve members there to place a flag for each fallen soldier who was from Minnesota. some friends of ours actually had a flag put up in honor of Eric. It took me a while to find it but I did eventually. I think they said there were 800 flags that people had put up either in honor or in memory or someone. It was very cool to see. I also made the mistake of wearing my army sweatshirt so the local news crew caught me and asked me if my husband is a soldier and they proceeded to interview me on camera.

Kellie insisted that we go into the haunted house. Kellie started screaming before we even turned the first corner. I was laughing too hard to be scared. Kellie kept pushing me into the guy in front me while she was trying to hide behind me. At one point we got separated and I figured someone pulled her out of the hallway and kidnapped her, but then I was disappointed when I suddenly started getting pushed again. I would say the haunted house is more funny than scary when you're with Kellie.

This is the swingset in our backyard (so far the only good thing that has come from our newest neighbors) Anna loves to swing and since she didn't have a baby swing to learn on, she was very easy to teach on the big girl swing.

As you can tell, I have figured out how to get into my blog to update it, so I probably won't be using the other blog I started. Oh, just to keep you updated, Eric is still in the states. His phone doesn't work unless he is in a certain area so good luck talking to him because I haven't talked to him in a week. He was able to buy himself some new boots that actually fit his feet so he is happy. Just keep praying for him and the troops. Just so you are aware, there will be no specifics posted on this blog.

this is our family last christmas when eric came home for a couple weeks between training. He is now home from training again. He has actually been home since the end of Feb. We found out this past monday that we will be saying goodbye to him again in May, this time for 15 - 18 months. We knew it was coming but not this fast. We are now spending a lot of time together as a family preparing for this time away. I don't know that you can really prepare a 1yr. old for it but we will do what we can. All of your prayers are greatly welcomed.

These are some pictures from eric's graduation day. We took some pictures of the actual graduation but they didn't turn out. The picture of the palm tree is from in front of the solomon center. It was in the 20's that day and the tree had icicles. It was also the first time in years that they have had graduation inside.

Just so everyone knows, eric is finally at boot camp. It only took almost two months but it fianally happened. What has he been doing all this time you ask. Becoming a very good janitor. He has been pulling duty in serveral different areas. Some nights he has guard duty and some nights he helped get all the new recruits checked in. He seems to be doing well and I think he is relieved that they have finally made a decision. He would definately appreciate all of your prayers and eventually letters and cards when I have an address to give.

This was Anna's first time at a beach. We went to Norway beach on Cass Lake and had a little relaxation time. Eric built a trench in the sand with some help from anna's cousins and myself. Eventually it was a little much for anna because she eventually fell asleep.

These are pics from grandpa schmid's house 4th of july weekend. We had a lot of fun, especially anna. She was extremely spoiled. She had a lot of watermelon and a lot of big people food. She alos got to go to her first bonfire which daddy was very proud of because he built it.

Hurry, call the national gaurd, anna is teething!. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Actually it's not all that bad. she is taking it well so far although she did not like her bath for the first time. they actually haven't cut through yet so I will have the NG on call. :) Oh well, she is having fun up here otherwise. She has gotten to spend lots of time with her grandpa (I think grandpa is enjoying it the most). I'll try to get some pics up tonight, I have to wait for the camera to get back here. These are pictures from memorial day. It was a very hot day and it was the first time we put sun block on anna. We went to the park with some friends of ours and had a great time.
Eric and I decided to help the park look better and started cleaning up the water fall. We all had fun doing it and we will probably go finish it.
